It's hard to find a new way of looking at fruit after ages of still life tradition. I have been working on a series of camera-less photographs, placing objects on a computer scanner and manipulating the resulting digital image. One day I was about to eat a fresh plum when I was struck by the beauty of its form and texture. I wanted to internalize its referential allusions and illusions to gender empowerment issues. So I scanned it and then I ate it.
