Welcome to the Wayne State University
Training Center, in the Computer
Science Department in the College
of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit,
Michigan.
We operate a major Office Automation and Word Processing
Training Program that is Federally funded, which serves to train unemployed
Michigan residents in the use of computers for clerical related jobs. The
training leads to employment after 13 weeks of intense training. The
training
is Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 4:30PM each day with an 1 hour
lunch break.
The Training is FREE for eligible residents
of the City of Detroit.
The program focuses on:
- Training & Development of Youth, ages 19
through 21.

Job placement assistance
The program has an excellent placement record of approximately
85%, which far exceeds the national average for such programs. Persons

Clerical Staff Available
Employers seeking clerical staff, proficient in the use of
office automation software on either the PC or Macintosh platforms,
should
contact the Training Center at the number below to receive assistance with
your specific needs or to obtain a free copy of all of the resumes of available
graduates. There are no fees charged for referring our graduates. We graduate
about 70 students in each class in November and March.
