Q: How about Wayne State University's Research Program?

A: Wayne State is a nationally recognized public research university serving more than 33,000 students through 350 degree programs in 11 schools and colleges. The National Science Foundation has ranked Wayne State among the top 50 U.S. public institutions for annual research expenditures.  We are particularly known for our faculty’s research in biomedical and health sciences, automotive safety, alternative energy and the nanosciences.   Wayne State University is a member of the University Research Corridor, along with the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. 

Q: Scheduling appointments

A: My regular office hours are 4:30-5:00pm Mondays/Wednesdays in 420 State Hall. There is no need to schedule an appointment if you can drop by during these hours. Otherwise, please make an appointment by sending an email to weisong at wayne dot edu.

Q: Research assistantships for Undergraduate students

A: Yes, I am very interested in have undergraduate students to work in my group. Please don't hesitate to email me if you want to get hands dirty. 

Q: Research assistantships for MS students

A: At this time I do not have any research assistantships available for new MS students.

Q. Research assistantships for Ph.D. students

A. Yes. Currently, I am interested in the self-motivated students who have background in data centers, operating systems, mobile systems and  systems security. Please send your publications (if any) along with your resume to me directly. 

Q: Joining the MIST group

A:  Only are students under my supervising (my students or direct study)  allowed  to join the group.

Q: Visiting researchers and post-doctoral

A: Yes.
