This remarkable symbol of creation reminds us of God's creative act in bringing our sun and other planets,
including Earth into being, (Genesis 1:14-19). Another beautiful expression of this is Psalm 19, which
begins with the contemplation of God's creation and closes with an inner awareness of God's creative
power at work within the human heart. God's answering of Job (Job 38:31-33) dramatizes the majesty of
God's creative power which man constantly seeks to understand, yet finds so much beyond his
understanding.
The more man discovers about the universe, the more awe-inspiring it becomes and the more aware he
becomes of the greatness of God. God has placed on him the responsibility to know this universe, to
subdue and master it. (Genesis 1:28-31). Today's explorations in space are one of the evidences of man's
acceptance of this responsibility.
