Cluster of Grapes
Grapes have a rich association with the religious symbolism of the Bible. A cluster of them has reference
to Jesus' words to his disciples in the crucial moments following the Last Supper, as recorded in John
15:1-11. The fifth verse reads, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he
it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Numbers 12:23 refers to grapes as
standing for abundance or well-being of the country's economy.
