Heralding Angel
This pane is a reminder of the angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary of the coming birth of Jesus, (Luke
1:26-38). Mary's response is a classic expression of complete surrender to the will of God, "Behold, I am
the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." (Luke 1:38) This window pane is also
symbolic of the many angelic messengers mentioned in the Bible, from the book of Genesis through the
book of Revelation.
