Anchor Cross
This dual emblem has been found crudely scratched on the walls of the ancient catacombs. It contains a
double meaning. The cross is the symbol of salvation; the anchor is the symbol of hope. Hebrews 6: 19
speaks of the eternal steadfastness of God's promise "as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that
enters into the inner shrine."
