Distributing CDs and DVDs
As a computer assistant, one of your duties will be to burn and dispensing Microsoft software to students. This web page describes the steps involved:
Step 1: Verify that the student has checked out all requested software from ELMS. They should bring a copy of their order. An example of the order can be found here. This order form can be obtained by the student at any time by logging onto ELMs and requesting a duplicate copy of their order.Remember: The Department of COmputer Science has a contractural obligation to distribute Microsoft products through the ELMS (a.k.a. the Electronic Licensing Management System). To enforce this, all students must bring a valid printed copy of their order form that has been generated by ELMS. No exceptions.
Step 2. Determine the Prime Array file name(s) required for each product. This table can be found by clicking here.
Step 3. Verify that the student has the correct number of CDs or DVDs. (If the student does not have enough, please ask that they return with the correct number.) Burn the CDs from the images on the Prime Array. A tutorial (a flash movie) describing the procedures for burning images on the Prime Array can be found by clicking here.
Step 4. Record the student's WSU access ID, the software burned in the provided EXCEL spread sheet. Please record this information for each product processed.
Step 5. Sign and date the student's order in ink indicating the product has been picked up. This is important so that the student does not try to burn multiple copies
