Q: How do I Contact the Program Administrator?
A: To contact the program administrator, please send an email to suj@cs.wayne.edu. The body of your email must contain the following:
- Your name and
- Your WSU access ID
The subject of your email should give a short description of the problem you are experiencing. For instance, if you are experiencing an error from ELMS, include the ELMS error code.
Q: Help! I can't Log on.
A: Two of the most common causes for having problems logging into ELMS follow:
If neither of these solutions solve your problem for logging on, please send an email to the program administrator. In addition to the required information in your email listed in the section How do I Contact the Program Administrator, please include the CS course you are enrolled in. The subject of your email should be "Can not Logon to ELMS".
- 1. Using the wrong user name. Your user name is your WSU email id (WSUAccessid@wayne.edu where WSUAccessID represent your WSU access ID). Please see What is my Username? below for more information.
- 2. Using the wrong password. Your password is NOT your pipeline password since the password is generated by the ELMS system during the activation process. The best way to find out what was generated by the system is to request that your current password be sent to you during the ELMS logon process. Your password will be sent to you via email to your WSU email ID. Please see What is my ELMS password? below for more information.
Q: How am I authorized to use ELMS?
A: As of the winter 2006 semester, all students enrolled in CSC 0995 or enrolled in CSC 1100 or higher are automatically authorized to obtain software through ELMS. A list of students to be activated is generated from University Registration information. The list is generated during the first week of classes and again after final registration. Thus, if you have added a CS course after the first week, you will be automatically authorized to use ELMS after final registration. IMPORTANT: An announcement is made in the form of an email is sent to every authorized student's WSU email ID at the end of each ELMS activation process.
If you are having trouble logging on and you are enrolled in a CS course, please review the information found in Help! I can't Log on for possible problems and their solutions. If after trying these solutions you can not log on, please send an email to the program administrator. In addition to the required information in your email listed in the section How do I Contact the Program Administrator, please include the CS course you are enrolled in. The subject of your email should be "ELMS Registration".Q: What is my Username?
A: Your user name is your WSU email ID: WSUaccessid@wayne.edu. NOTE: Since communication regarding your ELMS activation is sent to your WSU email id, please be sure to check this email account often. You can forward the mail in your WSU email account to another email account. Please refer to the web page http://computing.wayne.edu/accessid/faq.php#department for instructions on how to do this.
Q: What is my ELMS password?
A: During the activation process, ELMS generates a password for you. This password must be used to initially log on to the system. Therefore, during your initial log on, you must request that your password be sent to you via email to your WSU email account. For instructions, please refer to the topic "I've forgotten my password! Now what do I do?" for instructions on how obtain the ELMS-system generated password. After logging on, you should change your password to something that is easier to remember (e.g such as changing it to your Pipeline password). For instructions on how to change your password in ELMS, please refer to the topics How do I change my password?
